Le Kopi
I like to chill out at coffeeshop with friends. Chatting cup after cup or glass after glass of drinks in Sg bascially is call La Kopi. I used to hang out at Bishan's S11 and a prata house with DR and friends for hours chatting over glasses of ice milo, ice teh, barley, teh o and blah blah blah. During World cup 2002, I and lifelong friends La Kopi everyday until it ended. Now I still La Kopi but not at Bishan, but somewhere else. The company is no longer DR and friends, but HM and lifelong friends and friends (althoug WC was over for donkey years). I realised that a nice way to end a weekend is La Kopi, not tiring and not expensive, just maybe $1 for a good glass of ice teh. But smokers maybe have to spend away half pack of ciggies (not my problem).
Then i thought of a perfect name for my "wishful thinking" cafe, "Le Kopi". I think(maybe not to all or just me) a little artsy fartsy because of the "Le" and very heartland because of "Kopi" The "Le" sounds like "La" so can be like "La/Le Kopi". Cool. Right? I'll have a cafe with contempory design but selling nice thick cup of traditional Kopi O with charcoal toasted Hainanese bread with thick slice of Cold Storage butter and Fragrant home made Nonya Kaya. And of course, an soft boiled egg if cholesterol is not a problem. Heaven...... I will sell those ice-blend also lah... like Ice Mocha, Chocolate Frappe, Latte, and blah blah blah. Snacks like Biscotti, Cheesecake but i definately emphasize on my Hainanese bread. i'm not going to do my toast like Ah Kun or Mongkok. Mine will be crispy at the outside, soft in the inside. The butter will melt as you bite into the toast then slowly blend with the kaya. Wah.... Nice. right? i damn retro sia. I remember when i was young, my dad will share his Kopi with me by pouring some on the saucer and i'll drink from the saucer. My dad said the kopi will cool faster this way, esp young "chewren" afriad of hot.
OK! Set! My cafe will call "Le Kopi" Later i'll built up my cafe in my dream.
Do I need to copyright my cafe name first before anyone took it?
